New classification project- New products
Step-by-step explanation of how to create, edit, and complete a classification project.
A new project always starts with uploading a spreadsheet filled with relevant product data. To do this, click on Classify and then on New Classification Project. The goal is to quickly and efficiently classify products from larger uploads and store them in the master data.
You can either watch this tutorial or follow or step-by-step tutorial down below.
1. Upload
You can either upload a new classification project to classify a product list in traide, or you can upload a review project, which allows you to compare your classification decisions with those of the AI.
To do this, click on Classification → New Classification Project and follow the steps.
💡 We ignore duplicates. They are automatically filtered out during the upload process—no manual deletion needed.
2. Classification
Now click on the project to access the product list and the option to use different views or filters. The goal is for each product to have an appropriate tariff number assigned. There are various features to support you during classification. In the top left corner, you’ll find the views: Fast Lane, Group, and Classify.
You can either finalize cases directly or click on a product to get a summary of the AI’s decision.
2.1. Fast Lane
This view allows for time-efficient classification through AI-powered pre-classification. The AI has already selected a tariff number for the product. You have the option to manually review the AI decision or accept the suggestion directly. However, each case must still be manually confirmed to be finalized. This view provides significant efficiency gains in bulk classification.
Under the Fast Lane rules, you can define the desired confidence level. This means that the better the data quality, the higher the AI's reliability. Master data can also be included, so the AI checks whether a similar product has already been classified.
2.2. Grouping
The AI can detect variants and pre-group them, so you only need to classify the product once, and the decision is applied to all items in the group. A group can always be identified by the symbol on the left and can be opened with a single click.
2.3. Manual Classification
Products that are still left, or if you prefer to do it this way, can also be classified manually. On the left, you see a list of all products to be classified, and on the right, you have the option to either match the case with existing master data or classify it anew. This view will already be familiar from manual product entry. In the chat with the AI "Alice", you can review the AI’s reasoning or adjust the proposed tariff number. Additionally, you can access more context or even search the internet for product images.
3. Completion and Export
The status Completed indicates that the product list has been successfully classified and all products are now visible in the master data. If needed, the project can be exported via the three-dot menu on the right.
💡The extended Excel version includes not only the tariff number but also the AI’s reasoning.
